It may not have been the best decision I have ever made to take my bike to the beach bike path on the last day of a holiday weekend when the weather was beautiful. Yes, L.A. even has gridlock on the bike paths. But as long as I was there, I managed to get a few pictures without getting run over. And in keeping with holiday tradition, they are accompanied by poems. This time, haikus. More on my poor decision to go to the beach coming in the next post. Also in keeping with tradition, five pictures & haikus from my ride and one beer.
1. Ye Olde King's Head
Ye Olde King's Head Pub
I rode my bike there today
Guinness is tasty
2. The Bike is Resting

The bike is resting
Boats sailing on the water
Come on bike, let's go
3. A VW Bus
A Volkswagen Bus
Parked on the street by the beach
Are the Dead in town?
4. Kites Soaring
Kites soar in the sky
I wish I could be that free
Away from gridlock
5. Venice Beach, AM
Sunrise o'er Venice
Shady folks not yet awake
Soon they will arrive
6. Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale
Brown ale called Moose Drool
From Big Sky in Montana
More malty than hops
